In this post, we will give brief description of what the heart chakra is and when there is an imbalance. We will give 5 tips for balancing the Heart Chakra.
What is Chakra?
Chakra is a Sanskrit term that means “wheel” or “disk” and is derived from the root word “cakra”. Chakras are spinning wheels of light. They are energy points in our subtle body.
What is the Heart Chakra?
The Heart Chakra, Anahata, means "unhurt, unstruck, and unbeaten" and it is the fourth major chakra that deal with our personal energy vortex. It is the bridge between the 3 lower chakras and the 3 higher chakras. It is associated with unconditional love, compassion, balance and joy.
When balanced, we achieve peace and bliss and can love and receive love wholeheartedly. We are able to challenge and be challenged. When Imbalanced, physically it can manifest as poor circulation, too high or too low blood pressure, and respiratory ailments, such as lung infection, bronchitis, circulatory and heart-related issues Non physically, it can manifest as co-dependence, manipulative behaviors, feeling of unworthiness, lack of empathy, and an inability to trust self or others.
Heart Chakra Prescription
Below we provide 5 tips and 5 treatments to help balance the heart chakra.
1. Eat Nourishing foods that are green
Try a Green Smoothie using some of these ingredients:
Fresh Ingredients:
Spinach, Oregano, Mint
Ginger Root
Frozen Ingredients:
Mango, Pineapple, Strawberry
Peach (Dole Frozen Fruit mix)
Dry Ingredients:

3. Take time to connect with the breath
Try this breathing technique:
Take deep breathe in through nose for 4 seconds.
Hold for 4 seconds. Release from mouth for 4seconds
4. Acknowledge your truths
Say this Affirmation 4 times
“I am loving awareness.”
5. Meditate on feeling the heart space
Meditate for at least 4 minutes
using the seed sound "Yam"
