Winter Whispers. Listen to the calls of your Soul!

There is a calling echoing in the depths of you, and to hear it, you must get still and tune into the whispers of your soul.

Winter Solstice represents the turning point in the seasonal cycle, where we shift from harvesting in the Fall to resting in the Winter. Winter provides the perfect canvas for profound introspection. It is the season of reflection.

What does it truly mean to reflect? It's more than just thinking deeply about something. True reflection involves fixed attention, deliberate examination, and a willingness to see yourself mirrored in your own life. It's like looking into a mirror, but instead of seeing your physical appearance, you're seeing a reflection of your character, values, and the underlying causes of your experiences.

What is your life reflecting back to you? See yourself reflected through your creations, experiences, and relationships. Consider if the things you have acquired, status you have attained, and people you associate with, tell the story of who you were, are, and aspire to be.

What story are you telling through your life presently? Your life isn't just a series of events, but a structured narrative where each challenge becomes a stepping stone towards realizing your full potential. The obstacles and difficulties you've encountered throughout your life, and how you successfully navigated them, form a story that reflects your personal growth and progression towards fulfilling an "ideal" you hold for yourself. Does your current story align with your ideals?

Often, when our present story doesn't align with our ideals, it’s because we have competing ideas that we subconsciously prioritize. These competing ideas can stem from past experiences, societal conditioning, or limiting beliefs we've adopted along the way.

For example, you might hold the belief that "you have to always put others first, and not doing so makes you selfish." While striving to be generous is admirable, constantly prioritizing others' needs above your own can lead to unhealthy self-neglect and prevent you from setting healthy boundaries. This doesn't align with the ideal of living a balanced life where self-care is a priority.

Why do we sometimes prioritize others to the detriment of ourselves? The reasons are numerous and often complex. Perhaps a past experience instilled guilt, or maybe we're seeking external validation. Whatever the reason, these competing ideas require our attention. We must understand their origins and consciously choose to embrace ideas that support our ideal selves.

Instead of "always putting others first," consider a new idea: "For as much time as I give out to others, I give an equal amount of time to myself." Embodying this idea of 'equal time' means actively prioritizing your own needs and well-being whenever you dedicate significant time to supporting others, ensuring you maintain a healthy balance between giving to others and taking care of yourself. Regularly reflecting on your ideas is crucial to identify areas where your actions might not be fully aligned with your ideal self, allowing you to consciously cultivate behaviors that better support your desired life path.

The message of the Winter Season is “As within, so without”. Your life is a reflection of you. If you want to change your outer world (actions, environment, relationships), you must work to change your inner world (thoughts, emotions, beliefs). Your life is not a collection of random events that happen to you for no reason. Each event is intentionally orchestrated to help you embody your soul’s calling and reach your highest potential. The soul speaks through life. Our deepest desires, passions, and true selves are expressed through our actions, choices, and experiences in life. What you experience and how you respond to it, can tell you a lot about yourself and your purpose for being here and now.
